Course Content:
Unit 1: Photography Essentials
Learn the basics of capturing light:
- The camera
- The subject
- Aperture, shutter speed, and exposure
- Focus and depth of field
Unit 2: Working with Available Light
Learn to manipulate light:
- Lighting with purpose
- Natural light and the rhythms of the day
- Attached and cast shadows
- Diffusing, bouncing, and blocking light
Practical Project: Still Life Photography
Photograph a series of still life compositions using natural light
- Apply theoretical principles to practice
- Produce a series of photographs
- Produce tangible practical results that illustrate your new skills
